Our clients include CBC, Opera Nova Scotia, The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Porsche of Halifax, The Lebanese Chamber of Commerce, Casino Nova Scotia, Alderney Landing, and The Halifax International Buskers Festival, to name a few.
About Serpentine Studios
Offering expert instruction in various styles of bellydance as well as circus arts, burlesque, flexibility, and fitness classes, the studio was a community hub for over 9 years before pivoting to focus on their growing entertainment agency.
Serpentine Studios is now run by Laura Selenzi and focuses on performance art and entertainment. Laura continues to offer bellydance classes in various locations in Dartmouth and Halifax.

Meet Our Founders
Laura Selenzi and Monique Ryan spent years dreaming Serpentine Studios into reality, envisioning a safe space where people come to explore movement, discover bellydance, and join a vibrant and supportive community. With over 20 years of training each, Monique’s fusion dance and circus arts background and Laura’s classic Egyptian bellydance and manual therapy background combine to create a unique and hypnotic style that has delighted students and audiences across Canada since 2003.
After years of “Cabaret Serpentine“ working together to produce popular annual shows, classes, workshops, and bringing international bellydance luminaries to the Maritimes, the duo realized their goal of opening Serpentine Studios as of 2011 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The studio is now celebrating its 8th year as a driving force in Halifax’s creative dance and movement scene.

Serpentine Dance Company
A professional bellydance collective associated with Serpentine Studios, Laura Selenzi, Monique Ryan and Tina Afsana are Serpentine Dance Company, a dynamic trio exploring the traditional roots as well as the evolving modern potential of bellydance.
Laura’s years of experience in Egyptian and fusion bellydance, combined with Monique’s training in circus arts and world fusion dance; and Tina’s years of Egyptian and contemporary dance experience result in an elevated theatrical, skilled and compelling style.

Interstellar Circus Arts
An acrobatic duo comprised of established circus artists Amanda Hobbs and Taylor Zupiter. Cumulatively these artists have decades of experience in the living arts including partner acrobatics, aerial arts, dance, and flow arts. This duo brings a high degree of passion, enthusiasm and professionalism to all they do.
LEGacy Circus
LEGacy Circus is a multidisciplinary rollercoaster of emotions and story telling.
Erin, a professional acrobat and aerialist, is a double below knee amputee who uses various leg attachments on floor and in air. Vanessa is a professional acrobat and aerialist who experiments in these fields using stilts.
Combining the use of leg attachments, mobility aids, traditional and non-traditional circus apparatuses, this duo share their story of “what if we tried this?” while sharing laughter, tears, gasps and awe with each other and their audiences alike.
Luminosity Circus
Jugglin' Bubblers
The Jugglin’ Bubblers are a bubbly duo based out of Halifax Nova Scotia. With a passion for juggling, hat manipulation and bubble art, they bring a playful and light hearted performance perfect for young and old alike.
