CLASSIC EGYPTIAN BELLYDANCE, FUSION, AND THERAPEUTIC EXERCISE INSTRUCTOR
Drawing from experience in Turkey, India and Canada, Laura has 22 years of training in this art form. Having learned from some of the world’s best including Mahmoud Reda, Fifi Abdo, Aziza, Randa Kamel, Sahra Saeeda, Rachel Brice, Tito, and Hadia, she credits her mentor Yasmina Ramzy of Arabesque Dance Company for the majority of her professional training.
Performance highlights include dancing in Istanbul nightclubs, the Raganath temple in India, Canada’s MuchMusic, the Tribal Massive in Las Vegas, and in Arabesque’s original productions which toured across Canada. Laura has released an instructional DVD “Learn to Bellydance”, and continues to write articles for esteemed bellydance publications; and is a sought-after performer for many events in Toronto and all over the Maritime provinces.
A dynamic instructor, Laura strives to inspire people of all backgrounds to truly connect with their own bodies by combining her in-depth knowledge of anatomy, technique and learning methods with a sense of humour. In addition to her dance training, Laura holds a bachelor of Fine Arts and is a practicing RMT.
